This clock/sundial is the largest near the equator in the world. The lower section of the ring acts as a sundial telling time by day and the upper section is a clock recording time through LEDs by night. The feature was unveiled by the Prime Minister of Malaysia at the launch of the new town of Batu Kawan in Pulau, Pinang. WATCH VIDEO November 2003 - Castlepoint Bournemouth
Our 6 metre high, stainless steel digital time/temperature clock used 6 vertical tubes to indicate the day of the week, hour and minute. It is an ever-moving sculpture utilising minimum floor-space but providing maximum interest and pleasing to shoppers. This is our seventh successful focal feature within a major English shopping mall. Our mystery clock is set in front of the large north-facing windows so looking through it one sees the sky and clouds beyond. With no hands and no visible mechanism, time is indicated by the position of the "virtual hands" and the surrounding white (last 5 minutes) and the red (last hour) LEDs. Controlled by GPS satellite technology. |
